About the Association
The National Ube Association (ube.org.ph) is the national body for the stewardship of Philippine ube — Dioscorea alata.
Vision
A Philippine ube — Dioscorea alata — recognized worldwide as a heritage crop of verified origin and protected quality, with its value retained in the hands of the Filipino farmers and communities who cultivate it.
Mission
The National Ube Association exists to safeguard the heritage, integrity, and future of Philippine ube. We establish and maintain standards of origin and quality, recognize and equip the growers and enterprises who uphold them, and represent the crop's interests to government, industry, and the world — so that the prosperity ube generates returns to the regions and people who have cultivated it for generations.
Independence
The Association was established with support from Philippine Ube Co., a Philippine-registered exporter of origin-traceable ube. It operates as an independent body, and membership is open to all growers, cooperatives, processors, and enterprises who meet its criteria.
